We founded Silver Star Ranch in 2003 with our sights set to raise Texas Longhorns. Due to the Ranch's size, and through years of investigations and reviews, we decided to raise miniature cattle. Our search for the Texas Miniature Longhorn Breed allowed us to select from some of the best breeders in the USA to create what we think is the best of the breed. Utilizing these magnificent animals as our main herd stock, we look forward to creating some of the most distinguished Bulls and Cows of the Texas Miniature Longhorns in the USA! L'il ABNER is our newest and most prized herd sire. His tip to tip at 2 & 1/2 years old is 52” and still growing. His Texas Longhorn Championship blood lines consist of these incredible sire which are some of the greatest in Butler Longhorn history: Farlap Chex (Sire), Monarch 103 (Blue Chip of all time and Grand Sire) and Bevo (Yes the one and only and the Great Grand Sire). On the Dams side is Don Juan of Christine and the famous Coach. He was just discovered and will be the greatest (look at those horns) Registered Miniature Texas Longhorn. Calved 4/04/2009.

Chief is our alternating herd sire. As a Registered Miniature Texas Longhorn with TLBAA he meets all our expectations – small, big horns, and lots of color.  He has great conformation and a lot of color in his bloodline.  His first 2 calves were the smallest Registered Miniature Texas Longhorn calves born. Calved 05/02/2009.

"The" Dude is one of our next Herd Sires. He is a Registered Miniature Texas Longhorn. His Dam is a straight Butler - Plum Sugar 9/12. His Sire is Micro Chip 'N Boots who we sold to another ranch looking to increase their miniature longhorn herd. So "The" Dude is Boots' replacement. He is small, colorful and good horns for his age. He will start breeding in 2013. We can't wait for his first calves in 2014! Calved 8/18/2012.

Chief Sitting Bull is our 4th herd sire. He is a Registered Miniature Texas Longhorn with the TLBAA. Due to his size he should produce small calves. He was only 19" tall at calving. That is small for a bull! His Dam is SS Mini Maryland "Breeze". Sire is SS Micro Chief Romeo. This is one of the few bulls Chief has produced so we are keeping him as a possible replacement in the future. Calved 1/15/2013.

A new tiny bull calf. Dam is Mini SS Haily our shortest miniature cow and Sire is L'il Abner our prized Herd Sire. He was 22" tall at calving and 25 pounds. We are super excited about this little one. Calved 3/20/2013.

Home of the First Born Registered Miniature Longhorn Calf. Sire and Dam were both Registered Miniature Texas Longhorns by TLBAA. The calf - Summer Daze - was automatically registered as a Miniature by TLBAA.
