Silver Star Ranch is a member of the Texas
Longhorn Breeders Association. We are located in Celina,
Texas just 50 miles north of Dallas, Texas. We are a breeder
of Texas Miniature Longhorns. All of our Texas Miniature
Longhorns are registered with the Texas Longhorn
Breeders Association (TLBAA). Longhorns that are registered
insure the purity of the breed, and, that cross breeding
with other cattle has not occurred along the blood line.
The purpose of the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association is
to protect the unique heritage of the Texas Longhorn, to
preserve the purity of the breed and to promote Texas Longhorns
as a distinct breed. So when you are considering buying
Miniature Texas Longhorns make sure they are registered
with TLBAA to insure a pure bred, prior to purchasing.
Silver Star Ranch Miniature Longhorns come
from some of John Fore’s stock as well as from the WR and
Butler breed. John Fore started working on developing a
herd of very small Longhorns 16 years ago with Artificial
Insemination (A.I.) and embryo transfer. Today, through
natural breeding from his stock, there is a breed of Texas
Miniature Longhorns. Miniature Longhorns are 42”
or less at the hook at 3 years of age. Our Miniature Longhorns
are all 42” or less with most being under 38” to 40”. Some
of our latest heifers are very tiny, weighing in at 20lbs
at birth and only 19” tall with wonderful colors.
